Regular check-up exams and digital x-rays
Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of proximal decay of posterior teeth. Our office is entirely digital, including our x-ray. Digital x-rays are much safer than traditional film x-rays and reduce radiation exposure by up to 90%. Your safety and comfort are extremely important to us.
Routine Teeth cleaning
A dental cleaning is a professional cleaning you receive from a dentist or dental hygienist. Most dental cleanings take only between 25 and 30 minutes. Cleanings should be performed every six months to prevent excessive plaque buildup. Plaque left untreated can lead to unhealthy gums and tooth decay.
Deep Scaling and Root planning
This is the process of removing plaque and tartar from all tooth surfaces in a variety of methods, depending on the amount of plaque and tartar. Dental hygienists traditionally perform scaling by hand. However, new and advanced technology has lead to more modern methods such as scalers. This sophisticated tool allows dental cleanings to be performed more efficiently and in less time. To achieve best results, both electric and manual scaling methods are combined for deep cleanings.
Tooth colored fillings
Tooth colored fillings are aesthetically closer to the natural appearance of a tooth.
Root Canal Treatment
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Modern techniques used are relatively painless and extremely effective. You’ll be back to smiling, biting and chewing with ease in no time.
Saving the natural tooth with root canal treatment has many advantages:
- Efficient chewing
- Normal biting force and sensation
- Natural appearance
- Protects other teeth from excessive wear or strain
Crowns and Bridges
Tooth loss can have a profound effect on your health and well-being.
Although nothing can truly take the place of healthy natural teeth, several replacement options are available. They can improve your functioning, your appearance, as well as help you preserve surrounding teeth. We restore your winning smile by providing fixed prostheses like crowns and bridges.
Although permanent teeth can last a lifetime, teeth that are damaged or grossly decayed and cannot be restored may need to be removed or extracted. If you have a damaged tooth that needs to be removed, call us today! We use advanced technology and sedation to administer painless tooth removal.
At Shine and Smile, we work with all our patients to find an option to fits your specific needs. Whether you have a few missing teeth, a lot of missing teeth, or no teeth at all, dentures can provide a solution to the problem. We offer two types of dentures to fit your particular needs.
The two types of dentures we provide include:
- Complete dentures are used when all your teeth have been lost. We customize each set to look like natural teeth. These types of dentures are removable.
- Partial dentures are used when at least one tooth still remains in your upper or lower jaw.
